Honor Guard

Every 57 hours a Law Enforcement Officer is killed in the line of duty.

On average 150 Law Enforcement Officers are killed each year.

This year over 160 names of Law Enforcement Officers will be added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

This page is dedicated to Law Enforcement Officers who have given the Ultimate Sacrifice while serving and protecting their community.

The Lake County Reserves Honor Guard, under the direction of Reserve Deputy Herb Ciezadlo, is a specially trained ceremonial team that represents the Lake County Sheriff’s office, its deputies and families at funerals, parades and other ceremonial occasions. It is our intention to assist all deputies and their families during their time of emotional duress from the loss or debilitating injury of their loved one.

This elite unit accomplishes this by providing guidance and uniformity in the conduct of ceremonies and by establishing a specific sequence of events during those ceremonies. The unit is comprised of a special group of motivated Reserve Deputies trained to perform the particulars of those ceremonies.

The Honor Guard is currently comprised of the following Reserve Deputies:

RD Herb Ciezadlo - Honor Guard Commander
Deputy Chief Dennis Delia
RD James Pascascio
RD Glen Smith
RD Guy Snowden
RD Tammy Sawusch
