Lake County Sheriff's Office Explorers Post #2066

Law Enforcement Explorer posts help youth to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities. For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, Exploring offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post #2066 is a group of youths aged 14 - 20 who have an interest in law enforcement as a career. The post currently has 14 members. The members meet every other Wednesday at the Lake County classroom within the communications building of the Sheriff's Office in Libertyville Illinois.

They are taught by a variety of instructors from the ranks of the sheriff's office and other agencies. They receive classroom instruction on a variety of training topics which include, traffic stops, building searches, domestic disturbances, rapid deployment and burglary in progress, to name a few.
